Istanbul pictures

You know a city has been ushered into the 21st century when it has Minnesota Timberwolves posters.

The Grand Bazaar

Fishermen on Galata Bridge

Ramadan central, near the Blue Mosque

Coffee, Turkish style, made by men, Turkish style.

A friend and I (I'm the one with the chai, not the nargil)

Roll out the kebabs -- this party's just startin'

The Blue Mosque at night

The Blue Mosque...in the day. With a popcorn vendor below

The Hagia Sophia

A mixture of religous symbols testifies to the church's history (note the Virgin Mary on the dome and the Islamic elevated platform for the "preacher"...and the massive Arabic script)

Hmm...this one's slightly crooked. I guess the floors get a bit tilted after 1500 years.
